  • UFC 100 July 22nd

A solid show but I really wish they would have shown ALL the fights from that night. I wanted to see Coleman versus Bonner. However, my main goal was to see Hollywood Henderson knock out "the count". Hendo is a machine and people often forget that all he has done in the UFC is fight Top Fighters. Win or Lose he is one of the greatest fighters ever and proved at his age that he hits like a freight train. Loved the knock out and ever since Besping mouthed off after the Matt Hamill fight I have waited for this smack down.

In the heavyweight division what is there to say. Frank Mir had no chance against the beast. Brock is insane huge and what on earth can you do with that kind of power? I would love to see Fedor fight him but I see NOBODY in the UFC that can beat him. Hard to believe that a guy that really just showed up in the MMA is that scary good. I want to see him fight more big guys to see if he is for real but beating Frank, Heath, and Randy is nothing to sneeze at. Brock is easy to hate for his behavior and disrespect for other fighters. Dana ripped him a new one so maybe he will not act like a Circus Freak next fight. It is just not in the spirt of the MMA to flip off the fans. Then again, there is a side of me that likes the "show" and hype of Brock.

Then there is JSP. Dominant beyond belief and the best wrestler in MMA. That is unreal to never wrestle in HS or College and then do what he does in the ring. Impressive, however, I like the old JSP that standed up more and striked. After the Matt S. fight he has realized that nobody can stop his take downs and ground and pound so he keeps doing it.

Overall, a nice night of fighting but it is getting way to expensive....

Houston A. Hanging with BeechAboo at UFC In Columbus Ohio-Thanks To Houston!
    In Honor of Evan

    January 2009

For many years I have watched and become addicted to UFC. Sure I watched all kinds of fighting over the years including WEC, Pride, King of Cage, and local events but it is hard to beat the UFC for the fighters. While I like many of the fighters my favorites include Karo Parysian, Fedor, Chuck Liddell, Stephan Bonner, Local Indy Hero Chris Lytle, JSP, Forrest Griffin, Evan Tanner, Rich Franklin, Hendo Henderson, Spider Silvia, Axe Murder, Local Purdue Wrestler Jon Fitch, Roger Huerta, Houston Alexander, the dragon Machinda, Nog, and of course Randy Couture.

Guys that I like to see get punched includes Tito Ortiz and current champion Rashad Evans. Please someone knock him out so I don't have to see him swagger around talking smack. At least Tito is entertaining. My jury is out on BJ Penn. Awesome fighter but born with a silver spoon in his mouth and acts like he does not have to train and work hard. This was seen January 31st when JSP beat him into giving up. I struggle being a fan of BJ and after all the trash talking he has lost respect. MMA should always be about honor and respect. Oh I almost forgot, Matt "the terror" Serra. I root against his camp because of their arrogant attitude. He was booed at Columbus, Ohio so I a not the only one that he annoys.

In March I will be back at Columbus for UFC and will take a bunch of pictures. It is very hard to get good pictures in that arena. Bad Lighting and getting tickets up close are over $300 spankaroos. The main fight is Rampage versus Dean of Mean is not what I was hoping for but the undercard looks solid.

  • Mask from TapouT dies. Sad day in MMA

    March 12 2009

As many of you may know, one of the inventor of the TapouT Clothing company was killed in a car accident. Mask as most know him was an amazing individual that truly left his mark on MMA and the fans. It is like a personal loss to many of us that have seen how hard the 3 owners of Tap Out have worked to make their dreams come true. Please visit Tapout.com to see the mini-movie about these guys. For BeechAboo we are trying to do the same basic thing as Mask envisioned. We have the same dream and only hope that we can get part of the sucess he achieved. BeechAboo sends a heart felt sorry to all the family and friends of Mask. Many only knew him through TV and MMA events but we truly know he deserved all the credit he was given.

  • UFC 96-Columbus Ohio

    March 2009

Without a doubt one of the best fights ever seen in one night. While the card may not have been all the super stars that many people want to see but who cares? The fights were STUNNING and the KNOCK OUTS will be among the best EVER!! The crowd was into the fights and the fighters delivered. The other great thing about the event was all the stars of the UFC hanging out with the crowd. What was awesome was how nice many of the fighter's were toward the fans. Houston Alexander was hanging out and taking pictures and was super nice to everyone. A big thanks to Houston for taking time out to take a picture. He truly is one awesome fighter and many of my friends are super jealous. I remember watching his first fights with my friends and just being in shock how hard he hit. As my friend said,,,,"He is ONE BAD MAN". Well, when it comes to fighting he does unleash with fury and that is why FANS love guys like him. He does not screw around and try to eek out a crappy decision. He goes for broke. Trust me, the fight card delivered like never before. The only bad thing was the idiotic ref allowing Matt Brown to keep beating on Pete Sell. Then the Carvin knock out with a short punch of the Pal was insane. Of course, Matt Hamill's kick to the head of Munoz froze the crowd in shock. The Ohio boys looked great in their hometown. I could go on but take a look at the pics on the Cool Pics area to see more stars!

    February 2009: UFC Thoughts

Have you seen Damien Maia in the UFC? He is unreal good and if you get a chance watch him fight Short Fuze Ed Herman. He pulled out an unreal triangle choke and then flipped him into guard until he went out. I am getting excited about the UFC in Columbus next month. I am hoping to take some good pictures but that place is tough due to bad lighting and distance to the fighters.

For those really into UFC, have you heard that Nightmare Sanchez has dropped to lightweight division. Oh I so can't wait until he gets to fight BJ Penn. This will be an easy vote for me. Nightmare going crazy on the prodigy is a true dream match up. Nobody does the stare down like Diego. Of course Nightmare has to get by Joe Daddy which is not an easy task. Also, did you get to see Karo fight earlier this month? He did have one awesome judo throw but the fight was boring. Love the heat but his fighting style has changed. I liked it when he was a MAD MAN!

  • UFC 97

    April 19th 2009

The worst $45 ever spent on UFC Fights. If this card was suppose to be good it failed very bad. Dana White has to be seriously worried about his key fighters going out and not fighting well. Chuck gave it a good shot and if the same Shogun that showed up for Mark C. would have showed up it could have been fun. Bad news was that the Old Shogun from Pride showed up and with Chuck's age things did not turn out well. I never thought I would see Chuck get knocked out that many times in a year. Only Randy Couture could do well at over 37 years old. The competition nowadays is killer and what would have been a better fight was Iceman verus Spider. Mark my word, Spider will not be a headliner unless he is going to fight GSP, Rampage, or some other known top fighter. Silvia is killing everyone in his weight class and it is not even fun to watch. Especially when he lets off not to hurt a fellow countryman. Silvia crushed Franklin and since those fights he is not even trying since the competition has been horrible. The other fights of the night, which the poor customer only sees if he/she goes to the event may have helped the sting of paying for boring fights. I vote UFC 97 as the WORST PPV ever. I want my money back.
