Golf

Two Members of BeechAboo spend many hours golfing. Some say we have golf addicts on the team but they deny this claim. Below we have listed the great places to golf and the equipment we use.

The most beautiful course we have ever seen is Augusta National. If you ever get a chance to go to Augusta Georgia to view this course or see the Masters do not miss it. It truly is a once in a lifetime chance. Just remember, no cameras, no phones, and no screwing around during the main round. If you want to take pictures you have to go early in the week. The beauty of Masters is that food and drink is SUPER CHEAP and nothing beats a Pimento Sandwich and cold cola. Truly a special place and the course is unreal. Did you buy your shirt?

If your game sucks the beveled end of an egg go see a true Golf Pro and not your local Pizza Delivery guy that says he can play. If you live near Indy give our friend Matt Cardarelli a call at 317-543-9597. He teaches at the Fort Golf Resort and is commited to helping your game. Tell him BeechAboo sent you!

  • Golf Courses that are GOOD!

    January 2009

Below is our list of courses that we have played and our thoughts.

    • Purgatory Gollf Course in Noblesville. Without a doubt one of the finest courses in the Nation. Great condition all the time and nice staff. The beauty of this course is that it is not that busy during the week and in the fall. The course is tough but if you stay in the fairways your life will be fine. Very long from the tips. It is one our favorite course to play since it is close to work and home. One of the BeechAboos has a membership there and reports that the course is in great shape and hit a 44 on his first 9 of the year!
    • Longue Vue-Pittsburgh, PA. This is a very old country club course that is pure class and style. This is one of the greatest courses in America and a real pleasure to play. If you get a chance you must play it.
    • Shanty Creek-The Legends. Michigan has some unreal courses and the Shanty Creek area hosts many awesome courses. Expensive unless you get a deal but overall they are worth the price compared to many other top courses.
    • TPC in Cincy Ohio-This course is private but if you know someone it is truly a great course.
    • Brickyard Crossing at the race track. This course rocks for sure. Sort of expensive but one of the better courses in any state. It is shocking how cool the course is considering its location. In general you will be impressed by how many elevation changes they pull out of the land. A winner and worth a once a year special trip.
    • Coffin in Downtown Indy: In the Fall this course is a great deal and we played it many Sundays. It is a truly amazing course for beauty considering its location. If they put some money into this course it would be unreal good. It has the river running around it and is sculpted into a very interesting course. We like it and it is close to our Downtown member. We have been hitting this course on Sunday afternoon and the condition is getting better since new management took over. Nice group of people play this course and it is tougher than its slope rating would indicate.
    • While we have played many other courses we can't recommend them due to the following reasons: Stupid high prices, bad course quality, or bad attitudes.
  • BeechAboo Welcomes Long Drive Competitor

BeechAboo Welcomes Eric-Golf Ball's Biggest Enemy
BeechAboo Welcomes Eric to the BeechAboo Family. BeechAboo is happy to have someone on the team that can drive a golf ball over 350 Yards and wear our shirt proud. Grip it and Rip it.

Clubs we use and like.

After many years of buying junk clubs or using out of date equipment we laid out some dough.

We play with Cleveland CG Reds and  Mizuno MX-25's for Irons. Our drivers include Integras and Taylormade Tour Burners. We love the Tour Burners for the quality and price. We would suggest getting your clubs fitted by a Pro. We can recommend a guy if you do not know anyone. On March 24th I hit the green on a Par 4 (310 yards) and it rolled to the end of the green (about 20 yards). I was soooo jacked up that I missed the eagle, the birdie, but got the par. Sad but true...The tour burner is the real deal.

Winner of the Vault Classic. Sponsored by BeechAboo every year.

This year we will run the BeechAboo First Annual tournament for select members of the BeechAboo family. Imagine the glory of winning this trophy! It is mind blowing and words can not truly describe the joy.

Winner
